Kriti Sanon is an Indian actress who appears in Hindi and Telugu-language films. She was born on July 27, 1990. She temporarily worked as a fashion model after completing an engineering degree at the Jaypee Institute of Information Technology. In the 2014 action flicks 1: Nenokkadine and Heropanti, Sanon made her acting debut as the leading heroine. She received the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut for the latter.

The financially successful romantic comedies Bareilly Ki Barfi (2017) and Luka Chuppi (2019) gave Sanon her first leading parts, while her highest-grossing films were the ensemble comedy Dilwale (2015) and Housefull 4 (2019), which both had strong box office performances. She received the Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her performance as the surrogate mother in the movie Mimi (2021).

Early life

Sanon was born on July 27, 1990  in New Delhi to Geeta Sanon, a professor of physics at the University of Delhi, and chartered accountant Rahul Sanon. Her family is Hindu and from Punjab.She went to Delhi Public School in R. K. Puram graduated from Jaypee Institute of Information Technology in Noida with a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. Before she became an actor, she had a brief modelling career. Nupur, her sister, is likewise an actor.

Career

Early work 

With the Telugu psychological action thriller 1: Nenokkadine, Sanon made her acting debut in 2014. She played the love interest of Mahesh Babu’s character.  She had to take part in action sequences that were recorded at sea for the role, and she has admitted that the experience made her anxious because she couldn’t swim. Critics for The Times of India and Sify praised her acting skills as well as her looks. Sanon was cast in Heropanti, a Hindi action movie alongside Tiger Shroff, after finishing the first schedule of 1: Nenokkadine. She split her time between the two projects.

She served as the face of Manish Malhotra’s “Nooraniyat” bridal collection in 2021.She contributed money to the federal fund during the COVID-19 epidemic. Sanon raised cash for the Kailash Sathyarthi Children’s Foundation as well. Sanon has performed at both the 2023 Women’s Premier League and the 2017 Indian Premier League’s opening ceremonies.
